Loved the tutorial and David's clear grounded approach to the creative world of mixing. Two things i would of appreciated more was to hear David share the little key command/navigation tricks while mixing and set up track labeling better...I'm always looking for more tricks and faster ways to fly. I really dig what you guys offer ! Thank you so much! I would love to see a 3 hour tutorial spent on just VOCALS...really hip ways to achievie better mixes/blends/busses/comps and efx...Thanks Again!

Great Video.
Altough I was hoping to see him mixing the lead vocal aswell.

So I could see how mixing a complete song is done.

This was my first 400 series and I really liked it. I know some people wanted just Logic plugins to be used, but I really liked to see what plugins the pros use. I was supprised to see how many Logic plugins were used.... I mean he had every plugin on earth installed on his machine and he used quite a lot of Logic plugins. Thumbs up for Logic. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 is because there wasn't a lead vocal track which I think would have been really important to cover. Can't wait for the next "mixing" tutorial to come out... hopefully on on rock music. Keep em coming.

Description

R&B is a soulful genre, and there's few people with more soul than David Isaac. David has spent decades Engineering and Producing for many of the world's biggest R&B artists, including Luther Vandross, Marcus Miller, Michael Jackson, and many, many more A-List performers.

Topics like radio-ready vocal treatments, EQ'ing rhodes & bass, and mixing your drums to create space, depth, and dimension, are all covered hear.

But the best part of this tutorial is the inside tips and knowledge that David drops along the way.
