Brilliant course. I have learned so much about workflow, particularly automation and the grouping of effects - very tidy and effective style. The tutor communicates hard skills that you will not find simply by reading the Live manual - which is all, realistically, the vast majority of videos do. This is not necessarily a criticism of other courses as most times I am using videos to refresh my memory - just to say it takes real talent to be able to create a track with these production values and simultaneously teach the material in a meaningful way - the sound tutor is a very gifted teacher indeed.

Although some explanations were kinda confusing, I really enjoyed the video. The Sound Tutor really opened my mind to the capabilities of Maschine and made me look at it in a totally different way. He's taken my skills to the NEXT LEVEL. Thank you very much!

Let me start out this review stating that this class is not for newbies to Ableton, recording or sound design in general. If you're new to Dubstep then you're fine. They aren't kidding when they say you should learn all of or say, most of the, ins and outs of Ableton. I would say I'm intermediate, but I felt like a total newb with this course. I could keep up, but it's a lot of info coming at you. At the end when he goes "it's not complicated" and I'm saying "maybe not on your planet." I would say this is an Advanced class.
Again, the info packed in this course is golden. My only complaint is that I believe the mixing and mastering section should have been it's own class just by itself. There was a lot going on and at times I felt it was rather glossed over and rushed towards the end. You do get the files to study on your own, which you will have to do. I've had to go back and relisten to what he's saying because it was so fast and even then, I didn't understand. It's recorded, so I don't know what the rush was to pack it all into 24 videos when I've watched tutorials that had up to 40 and the teacher went at a slower pace. This could mean trouble for people where English isn't their first language.

Great tutorial even if you don't wrote on March 20, 2016
There are a lot of tips and tricks and ideas in this tutorial series. I'm not a dubsteb producer but got a lot of inspiration out of the tutorial. What I like most about this one is that it uses Ableton live (suite) only and it made me realize that it has everything I need. So I'm using the built in plugins and instruments more often now. Great tutorial for producers who work with Ableton Live!

Maschine Production Tips and Tricks from The Sound Tutor! This course is one of the most unique and dynamic presentations on a music production software platform on MPV. The tutorials focus on production techniques that are not included in the manual. Anyone who uses Maschine in their production flow would greatly benefit from these unique trucks that could make you stand out more to your audience.

I really enjoyed this course, and have taken the dub step courses in both logic and ableton. This one seemed to be a little more straight forward, and have room for creativity, I appreciate you going at a speed that wasn't too fast and requiring a lot of rewinding. Great course.
