Back at the end of 2016 we ran a story on a clever Max For Live device that combined arpeggiation with sidechaining to provide an innovative and unique way of creating patterns in Ableton Live. Spurred on by the success of that M4L module, the developer has now adapted it into a full VST / AU plug-in that can be used in any DAW. Kameleono (for that is its name) now features sample-accurate processing of MIDI notes, a polyphonic arpeggiator, unlimited sequencer, flexible I/O and even a built-in synth.
Here's the full feature list:
Kameleono is a multi-effect MIDI plugin with a modular design.
Every module can be used separately, or in conjunction with other modules.
Check it out in action in this video.
The developer continues: "Kameleono is unique. In addition to the standard MIDI-In / MIDI-Out you’ll find on any other MIDI FX plugin, there is also a side-chain MIDI input called Pattern-In.
The Pattern-In acts as a data source for Kameleono’s internal engine and can be used for Arpeggiator Patterns, Sequencer Notes, Sync Markers, etc."
It's certainly an interesting new way to program and work with MIDI, and at the price it's got to be worth checking out!
