There’s lots about RME music gear that many musicians love. Perhaps it's the high-end, but affordable features? At Messe 2016 Max from RME showcased four new products, including the Fireface UFX+.

Starting with the RME Fireface UFX+, Max explains it is meant as a higher extension to the UFX and adds 64 channels via MADI. It allows the interface to be close to you and converters close to the signal source. It has over 94 channels and is a USB 3 and Thunderbolt compatible device.

The RME ARC USB is a remote control that can connect to the computer or interface. You can control it using a footswitch to do things like triggering talkback with the musician. It’s available as an add-on to the UFX+.

The MADIFAce Pro. It’s basically a BabyFace Pro with a MADI interface. It adds 64 channels over MADI optical, works in standalone mode.

The final new RME product on show at Messe 2016 was the ADI-2 Pro. A compact and flexible 2-Channel Hi-End AD/DA-converter. RME have used the highest spec they can get their hands on. For example, it supports PCM streams up to 768 kHz! It also features a spectral analyzer, loudness compensation, mutes the monitor outputs when plugging in headphones, and is very powerful. Although it can be used with your computer as an interface it’s designed to get audio in and out at the highest possible quality for studio applications. It’ll be shipping later this year… but the price is not fixed just yet…
