Roland & Serato Aiming for Producer DJ With New AIRA Product
Rounik Sethi on Thu, August 25th | 0 comments
We heard vague rumors about this and now Serato have announced that they have indeed be working with Roland on something new. Watch the teaser video below. Only 14 days to wait to see the results.

Serato are calling their collaboration with Roland, "Two Players - One Sound." And with news that 909Day is around the corner (September 9th, 2016 to be precise) with over 30 products and services being released by Roland, we're now certain one or more of these will be Serato based.

As I write this I'm trying to imagine something in the AIRA range which is DJ focused running Serato. And surprisingly, it's not too difficult to imagine. Signature green and red neon buttons and faders ( pads and platters?) on a dark black unit would make for a neat fit in the AIRA range. And the more you think about it, the more sense it makes for Serato and Roland to bring their respective DJ and Producer know-how together.

So,how will this make whatever evolves from Serato and Roland as, "something truly unique... (that) will redefine what it means to DJ"? We're now sure it'll be part of the AIRA family, so should play nice with the TR-8 and TB-3 or perhaps it will include effects and sounds from these or other synths from Roland AIRA products. Imagine a TB-3 or new AIRA 909 built around Serato DJ software. We can imagine a hybrid DJ/live production machine... like a cross between Maschine and Traktor but catering more for the Serato DJ.

It's all speculation for now. But we'll find out more on the 9th September. In the meantime Serato encourage us to visit their site and signup to be the 'first" to learn more about this announcement.

In their initial one minute teaser video representatives give a very brief overview of the beginnings of their collaboration on the new gear. Currently, Serato have disabled embedding on their video so you can ONLY watch it on their site...
