Wave Alchemy Tease World's Most Authentic Virtual Drum Machine
Rounik Sethi on Sat, December 3rd | 0 comments
Based on 14 of the world's most iconic hardware drum machines, Wave Alchemy tell us their upcoming instrument, Revolution, is the most authentic re-creation of these ever. Watch the video here.

In mid November Wave Alchemy turned many heads with a teaser shot of the their upcoming REvolution virtual drum machine instrument. We got to see the interface... and a lot of you (me included) got pretty excited!

Now, they've released a video teaser with music (we assume) featuring sounds from REVOLUTION. They call it, "The World's Most Authentic Virtual Drum Machine." We can neither confirm nor deny that at this stage, but judging by our past experiences with Wave Alchemy products we're keeping a close eye on this one.

It seems like rounding off 2016 drum machines are the big thing again.  Arturia's DrumBrute, Roland's new TR-09, and the Jomox Alpha Base (we just posted about today) being three prime examples.

What we do know, and we're at liberty to reveal, at this stage of the Wave Alchemy Revolution build up prior to release is that this instrument is based on 14 iconic hardware drum machines. It'll run in Kontakt Player (free), it's NKS ready (great for Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol users), and is being released on 22 December 2016.

Wave Alchemy Revolution is coming to a screen near you on December 22nd, 2016.

Wave Alchemy have informed us there will be a very reasonble upgrade path for those who already own any of their current Revolution instruments (Transistor Revolution, Digital Revolution, Revolution-606). Although price has not been confirmed there are rumors it'll be in the £120 GBP range when introduced.

Dan from Wave Alchemy tells us, "The new instrument has been totally redesigned and is a MASSIVE improvement over Transistor Revolution - it's an absolute breeze to use. Not only that - there are MANY drum machines included in the new instrument, not just the 808/909 + tons of amazing new features which we'll be announcing over the coming weeks. Revolution perfectly emulates the sound, characteristics and behaviour of 14 classic iconic drum machines."

He also adds that "Revolution features a very comprehensive expressive 32-step multi-track sequencer with individual per step modulation routings (step locks), which allows you to sequence any of the sounds to create your own patterns. It is very flexible."
