How To Create Complex EDM Sequences By Combining Arpeggiators in Omnisphere 2
Rounik Sethi on Sun, November 22nd 0 comments
In this video tutorial on Ask.Audio Academy, Bill Burgess shows how to create complex, grooving sequences using dual arpeggiators all inside Spectrasonics’ Omnisphere 2.

This video is from the complete course, Omnisphere 201: Omnisphere 2 Xtreme.

By loading up two different parts with their own arpeggiator patterns in the Patch Browser, Bill Burgess looks for the disparate, unlikely combinations to create seriously cool electronic rhythms. Then by ensuring all parts are present in Stack Mode he shows how with a bit of programming or amending existing patterns it’s possible to get grooves that will surprisingly work nicely together.

It’s all about contrasting parts for Bill Burgess which he expertly manipulates to make something that sounds good. In real-time, the video shows his process, which at times shows how to turn the unlikely into likely sonic candidates.

Even if you don't have Omnisphere (we'd highly recommend it btw), you can use this technique in any synth with an arpeggiator by creating mutiple tracks with multiple instances of the synth plug-in. It just probably won't be as seamless a workflow or enjoyable an experience!

This video is taken from the complete course, Omnisphere 201: Omnisphere 2 Xtreme which you can watch here in The Ask.Audio Academy.
