Hollin Jones on Mon, February 26th | 0 comments
Correctly matching frame and sample rates when working with video in Logic Pro is key to having a trouble-free scoring experience. David Earl shows you how it's done.

Logic Pro is the perfect tool for scoring to picture, with comprehensive video and format support. But the world of digital video has its own language and requirements that might initially seem daunting. Luckily, David Earl is here to show you how to get up and running. In this short video from the course Logic Pro FastTrack 204: Scoring to Picture Toolbox, David explains how to set up Logic's Preferences to suit any combination of video and audio setup for scoring.

David shows you how to use Logic's Template Setup window to specify audio sample rates and video frame rates that will stay in sync, maintain full fidelity and smooth playback and not throw up any erorrs while you try to work. He also explains how different video footage can be shot at different frame rates and why this is important. He ends by switching Logic's timebase to use SMPTE, which is movie time code, so you are working in sync with the video. Check out the rest of the videos in this Logic FastTrack course for much more on scoring to picture with Logic Pro.
