DJ Turntable and Mixer Company, Vestax, Files for Bankruptcy
Rounik Sethi on Thu, December 11th 0 comments
One of the biggest and most well-known DJ turntable and mixer companies, Vestax, has officially gone bankrupt. The face of the DJ gear industry continues to change.

The writing has been on the wall since the summer. And now it’s been confirmed that Japanese DJ mixer and turntable company, Vestax, has gone bankrupt. They filed for bankruptcy in the Tokyo Distict Court on December 5th, 2014.

Visits to their website come up blank and their Facebook page has been taken down. Vestax had failed to release any new products this year and were barely visible at trade shows, so it’s no surprise for many in the industry to see they’ve gone out of business.

The big questions are why and how. Many of their turntables have been popular amongst top DJs across the world for some time… But seemingly they were unable to compete in the digital DJ gear market, which has recently been flooded by cheaper and arguably more capable DJ mixers. And ironically, just as vinyl seems to be making a come back, Vestax are no longer.
