Thavius Beck is an electronic musician/producer/programmer as well as an electronic music educator who has worked with various artists ranging from Nine Inch Nails to Saul Williams to singer/songwriter Skylar Grey.
The ultimate analog/digital hybrid drum machine just got better. Thanks to its distinctive analog sound and its new sampling capabilities, the Analog Rytm MKII now truly offers limitless sound design possibilities. Join artist and producer Thavius Beck in this 2 hours+ course, and get ready to harness this powerful rhythm maker!
Thavius starts the course with a detailed overview of Analog Rytm's data structure. This is where you learn about projects, kits, patterns, and how everything is organized. He then demonstrates how to start from scratch with a blank template, and how to create, save and load your own projects and kits.
Next, Thavius dives right into the major new feature of the Analog Rytm MK2: sampling! After recording different sounds from his trusty OP-1 synth, he demonstrates how to get creative with sound design, and how to record patterns by playing the pads live, or by programming Elektron's infamous step sequencer. Next thing you know, you'll have your first beat blasting! You'll also learn the best workflows and strategies to get the most of your Analog Rytm MK2, such as using P-Locks, Retrigs, micro timing, Copy/Paste techniques, how to tweak your song live with Scene and Performance modes, and a lot more.
So sit back and join producer and trainer Thavius Beck in this 20-tutorial course, and get ready to become a Rytm expert.

Excellent overview of all the main features explained in short, clear and well explained videos. Made a huge difference not only in my use of the unit but also gave me confidence in exploring and experimenting all this excellent machine has to offer. Definitely recommend.

I've looked at a lot of Youtube tutorials about this awesomely complex machine. This tutorial is by far, the best, for folks who are just getting started. It will stop the head scratching and get you to a functional level.

This is a fantastic course. The information is presented clearly and concisely. I really liked the way the "oops" moments were kept intact, because the on-fly-corrections help to reinforce the material. The instructor is clearly knowledgeable and his pacing is just right.

This is course is pretty much perfect and exactly what I've been looking for. It's a comprehensive tutorial of the Rytm MKII from the ground up, perfect for newcomers to Elektron like me. Worth every dollar
However there's one problem totally unrelated to the quality of the tutorial itself and I hope the people in charge read this. Something is up with the way this tutorial has been labeled and marketed because I had a hell of a time finding it. Over the past couple months I've googled "Rytm Mkii tutorial" and several different iterations of that but never once came across this tutorial. I luckily stumbled across it deep in a forum. Hopefully that is addressed because I'm positive there are more people looking for a tutorial like this since there's a complete dearth of them online right now.
Anyways, thanks to Thavius for making an incredible tutorial.
