Learn how to operate the amazing new console and mixing tools included in Reason 6. Watch as Mo Volans remixes a track right before your eyes and ears...
Mo Volans is world class musician, writer and music software professional whose creative contributions include original music for TV, film and recordings. His insightful writing is featured in many of the top music technology and pro audio magazines around the world.
Finally, Reason 6 mixes!! That's because built right into Reason is the coolest SSL-style mixer ever created for any DAW! However, before you can mix, you've got to learn the tools!
In this tutorial, Reason's Mixing Toolbox, Master Mixologist Mo Volans takes you though a mix from start to finish. Along the way you'll learn about the Reason mixer's different sections and its cool new tools. First, Mo explains the built-in dynamics section with its compression and gating on every channel strip! Next, Mo shows you how he uses the channel strip's EQ and filters to bring out the inherent sonic character in every track.
The tutorial progresses into an extensive section on FX where you'll learn how to set up the rack to receive sends from the channel strips and bring it all back again into the musical stew! Mo then explains the audio functionality of the insert and send effects and why you need to know the difference!
From there he examines the reverb, delay, modulation, distortion and saturation effects as he applies them to put a sonic sheen to the individual tracks in this ever-expanding remix. Not to be missed is the killer video about using the amazingly powerful Combinator in your mixes!
Finally, Mo takes you to Reason's Mighty Master Channel! There you'll learn all about master bus compression and how to use the master channel's inserts and returns. This section is a teaser for Mo's other new Reason 6 tutorial at macProVideo.com, Reason's Mastering Toolbox. Check it out!
So yes, now Reason 6 mixes, and you will too when you learn all about Reason's Mixing Toolbox with Mix Master Mo Volans!

It's okay for me. I was expecting more info about mixing do's and dont's. Things to avoid and things that you should always get in the habit of doing. This one could be improved. Left me lacking.

This is an excellent video. It really helped me understand the mixing board and put things into perspective as far as how to get a quality mix.I really like how using the effects send and return can add to the mix.

Man! This toolbox gave me a broader understanding of how to use the SSL mixer to its full potential. I'm gonna be turnings knobs now too and not just using the faders.

I have really enjoyed Mo's tutorials, I have been using reason 6 for the past year and learning as I go. It's great intuitive software, but to really get your moneys worth these tutorials are invaluable. 1 or 2 hours with Mo and I've learned so so much. I will surely buy more as they are terrific present and future value

your probably in the safest pair of hands in the industry with Mo Volans ,this tutorial is a must for any serious reason 6 user. This is more than a tutorial on just mixing in reason 6 Mo actually gives you a guided tour of the effects and even what the effects do ,for example when it comes to reverb
Mo will show you in detail the comparisons between the RV7 and the RV7000 and how to use them.
This video is a must for any one getting into reason or coming back to reason.I thoroughly
recommend this tutorial to any one who is serious
about taking their productions to the next level.

Great tutorial! Even though Reason 6 is brand new, Mo seems to have already mastered everything about it. Excellent demonstration of all the new mixing capabilities. Particularly helpful for me because I find Reason's rack configurations complicated. Loved everything about it, even down to Mo's awesome accent!
