Enough acoustic theory, let's start building! In this third course from our Studio Design and Construction series you get an on-location look at how a project studio actually gets built!
Producer/Engineer/Drummer Jim Pavett is the owner of Allusion Studios and a boutique pro audio consulting/sales business by the name of Pure Wave Audio.
Every recording studio starts out as a dream, and every dream is different! This particular owner's dream was to build a studio as an addition to an existing structure. In documentary fashion, you are included in the extended process as his studio makes its way through the trials and tribulations of design and construction until his dream becomes a finished, working reality.
Join Jim Pavett as he consults with the owner, the architect and the construction team as they all work together to get the job done. Listen in as they discuss the initial project. Meet up with the contractor as they do a initial site evaluation. From there, like an apprentice on the job, you watch the team work together as the acoustically-correct floors, walls and ceiling go up.
This course follows in the footsteps of the other courses in the Studio Edge series where you get all of the basic theory, physics and acoustic information of the studio construction process?so be sure to watch them all!

Good stuff! Would have been nice to see a list of the stuff going into the budget and all the equipment installed presented on the screen somehow. Liked the documentary style!

So-far so good, I got a building foundation started of design and equipment, a concept to build around and some fire. I'm just hoping that the industry will circulate more money wise as in paying loan's and interest plus receiving them in fast timing just to stir up the gift more while also though not forgetting to appreciate the now.... Thank You Ask Video....

Very well explained. I'm looking to build my own studio and this is answering a lot of questions that I had. The only thing I would have loved in this course is having a photo or a quick video of all the parts and audio hardwares that is discussed to help me figure out what is what. But other than that (and this was not a must), must seen course for everybody who plan to make a home studio. Great job!!!
