    Compressor
I have to record a female singer with a powerful voice the problem it is the level between soft part and high part it is tremendous, i know it is best to add a compressor like Avalon tube but for me like almost everybody, it is all about money. Is there a way to compress in coming recording with Logic 8. Thank you

Can you not use the built-in compressor in Logic? It's pretty good! Also, ask the vocalist to stand closer to the mic when the part is quiet. If you really need to apply the compressor destructively on the signal: 1. Open the environment window. 2. Create a new Input Channel strip 3. Place a compressor or plug-in of choice on the insert, turn up the level. 4. Now when you record the signal the effects and input signal will be recorded. 5. Double check before the vocalist arrives ;) Rounik
