Hello - I am thinking about starting on the Certification path and wonder what anyone's thoughts are. My ultimate goal would be to eventually teach some of the classes and perhaps do some videos for MacProVideo :) I am looking at Logic and Soundtrack Pro. I think I can pass the Logic 101 test without taking a class- just reviewing the book. and then take a class on Logic 303 and Soundtrack. Any advise? (Martin, I have a copy of your excellent book on Logic 7 and am reading through the new one on 8. Your book really got my going in Logic after I switched from Digital Performer. So Thanks - any advise you would like to share would be great.) Is there are practice test for Logic like there is for Final Cut Pro? Thanks Kayle

Hi Kayle, I've done the Logic 7 and Logic 8 101 certification and am about to do the Trainer cert in Logic. There was an unofficial online practice test for logic 7 which won't help you with 8. There is nothing like this for version 8 - but as long as you read the book thoroughly and know your way around all the menu commands (not just key commands!) you should be fine. I think the pass rate for the 101 exam is still 80%. Take your time reading the questions. You can go back and review them later... Make sure you know the official terminology too :-) (It's all multiple choice) - lots of pictures to help and some questions require you to click on a picture to show where the answer would lie... I felt the Logic 8 101 exam was a marked improvement over 7. Let us know if you have any more questions! Cheers Rounik

Thanks Rounik - I hurried my way through the test and got 80%. So I feel pretty good about it, even thought I know the Logic 8 test is different. I will work through the new book and schedule the test thanks again Kayle

Hi Kayle i passed the logic 101 exam in April and the 101 videos helped me alot. Get the book Logic pro8 and Logic express 8 by David Nahmani, go through all the questions and ur be sorted. best of luck mtec

Word of caution... this practice test is a whole lot easier than the real deal. Study the book carefully. Go over the questions in the back of each chapter. And most of all, know the material... not just the answers! Good luck... I hope everyone will become trainers!! Steve H.
