RogerBeep Audio Unit
Hi all! Has anyone come across this AU plug-in effect included with Logic 8 (Audio Units > AURogerBeep) More importantly has anyone found a creative use for this plug-in? I imagine it might be quite useful for glitch sound effects.... Cheers Rounik

Hi Rounik, It's a plugin that's installed with Leopard... it's not available in Tiger. I'll give it a try and let you know! But what do you think of it yourself ? Christian

Hey guys, Thanks. I've already got supa trigga. A very nice plug-in! I've been trying to find a way to use Rogerbeep creatively, .... Actually, I'm revising what I was about to say. I've tweaked around and found a couple interesting settings that won't burst my ear drums or pop my speakers (You've been warned!!!) I tend to use iZotope Vinyl for the vinyl feel and supa trigger and Livecut for glitchy effects, so it's hard to see where this plug-in fits in, but if you want beeps or clicks added to a drum loop it can add a bit of variety... It might be interesting to send a signal to it on a bus...hmmm. Here's an example of the three different types of beep it gives using one setting I created on an apple loop: http://www.sendspace.com/file/5rnnpk Cheers Rounik

By the way this thread was partly motivated by me looking for an excuse to post my first picture on this forum ;-)

Hi, going back to my days as a Radio technician, I can tell you that "Roger Beep" was a short burst of audio transmitted by the transceiver when the push to talk button on the microphone was released. The idea was to let the other party know you had finished your "Over" without having to actually say "over" at the end. Perhaps this has been included in leopard for communication software such as iChat or Skype.

Hey Rounik i found this on another forum Although its officially meant only for ableton-I have found Major Malfunction to be fine for Logic 8 UB. You can also use Supatrigga-but its slowdown is randomly fired-which isnt that useful IMO...
