Re: Pan in Multitimbral Ewqlso Play instrument
Steve, Did you get a chance to look into this. If I load PLAY as a multitimbral in Logic 8 and leave the default to 16 channels when creating an instrument, I can track automate on the first instrument in PLAY. I notice that creating a multitimbral instrument adds additional automation types for, in this case, PLAY. If I don't create a multitimbral, then I don't see those additional automation types for PLAY. This video shows me moving the Volume slider in PLAY with Logic 8 track automation. http://www.digimixstudios.net/autoInstPlay The problem is when I try to track automate another track, all the track automation data goes to the first instrument. So the Volume slider goes nuts because it's receiving from both tracks. I did put a monitor object on the output in the Enviorment for the 2 tracks in question and did notice that it is sending out the automation data to the same track. The notes were sent to the individual tracks, but the automation data was sent to the same track. Question is, how can I intercept that so I can put a transport object in and change that. I notice it's not the same setup as your tutorial shows in October. You plug in a multi-instrument object then add in the arrange window those tracks. Since I added the instrument as a multitimbral, those additional tracks are already there and assigned to the midi channels. I hope I said this all right and haven't confused you with my post here. I'll be submitting a support ticket to EastWest as well to see if they can shed any light on this. BTW - You're TNT videos are great. I knew Logic could do alot more and your TNT videos show that. Look forward to future TNT videos.

I'm answering my own post cause I figured out how to do this but it still didn't solve the PLAY issue. Turns out Logic 8 handles automation for a multimbral instrument just fine http://www.digimixstudios.net/LogicMultimbral (I show SampleTank 2 and Omnisphere here) I'll be creating a support ticket for EastWest later tonight, but its an issue with PLAY not Logic 8.
