    What do you guys think that the best (under 200$) interfaces are to work with reason and Logic i was looking at the presonus 1394 firewire.

    I have a good friend that has the Presonus interface and it works very well for him. A lot depends on what type of recording and music you are doing. The mic pres on the Presonus are ok, but not great - if you are going to be doing a lot of acoustic recording, I would look at the Apogee Duet. I know it is more money, but the mic pres are really nice.

    I agree with KC, having used both the presonus firebox and Apogee Duet... and liking them both, I'd go for the Duet. Especially considering the Firebox needs to be plugged in to the mains to use with macbook pro's now... making it not as portable as it once was :( Depends what you are looking for in an interface? Do you need mic pre's, xlr, how many outputs? etc. Cheers Rounik
