    Converting Protools to Logic 8
This is my first posting to this forum. I did search for an answer first, forgive me if I missed it already. I need to finish a project that was brought to me after it was begun in Protools. I don't have Protools, and prefer to use my Logic 8 set-up. Is there a reasonable way to convert and/or import the Protools sessions and files? Thanks.

Hi TSP, Welcome to the forums :) Unfortunately, there's no way to import or convert a session or project between Pro Tools and Logic or any of the major DAW's. The way to do this would be to open the project in Pro Tools and export each track as an audio file and import those audio files into Logic. Thanks Rounik

Rounik, Thanks for the disappointing, but nevertheless informative (and quick) reply. Darrell

I Can only transfer the audio files from Logic to Pro tools right? And also how do I convert each midi track into a wav. file, so I can transfer it into Pro Tools?

It can work both ways AFAIK. As long as the 'tracks' in either PT or Logic or Cubase or Live etc are exported as PCM (e.g.Wave) files then, believe, all DAW's will be able to import these file types. To export a MIDI track from Logic, my favourite way is to solo the track set the loactors (cycle area) File > Bounce... Repeat this for each track. You can also try File > Export > All tracks as audio files... (or named something similar) Cheers Rounik
