Syncing 2 Macs via Ethernet
Hi i was asked to explain how i do this in my live setup so here goes. This works for me but plz chime in if u have better ideas. 1. Open audio Midi setup which is located in Applications > Utilities 2. Click on network. 3 The next page is where you add a session 4.Press the + symbol in the top left box and name your session 5. Connect the 2 Macs via a Ethernet lead. 6. You should now see the other Mac in the bottom left window. Click this and press connect. One of the Macs has to be the Master and one the Slave. 7.On the master machine go to the settings menu > synchronization and select as follows. My network is called white live. NB. This only has to be done on the Master machine. 8.On the slave machine Customise the transport bar and add the Sync button. Turn on the sync button and that should be it. You may need to start-up the slave Mac first then the master. Hope this helps some of you.
