Mastering
Hello Rounik, I am currently using Logic Pro 8 on my iMac. While mixing my tracks, even using the gain plug-in, loudness is sometimes an issue when I try to prevent clipping. I have purchased the 401 mastering tutorial and it is extremely helpful. My tracks will be mastered soon. Can Ozone be used with Logic Pro 8? After reading the Ozone "plug-in specs," I'm not sure. My interest was sparked by your mention in the reply to fvs that Ozone was one of the better mastering apps than Logic's. Also, maybe you could suggest to your colleagues to create a tutorial that focuses specifically on recording, EQ'ing and mixing lead and background vocals. I could truly benefit. Thanks. Sonia

Hi SoniaT, Yes, ozone 4 is compatible with Audio Unit format (Logic). I've heard very good things about it by the way. I'm seriously thinking about getting it soon. http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/ozone/ http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/iZotopeOzone4.html best, -fvs

Alright lads, I use Oxone 4 quite a lot and can recommend it. It has a really nice sound. Before the update it sometimes lost clarity in the high end of the spectrum but that issuse seems to have been resolved. I also like to use T Racks 3, That has a really nice rich sound. Its all down to personal preference. I would recommend checking them both out see what you like best.

Just wanted to add you can download a trial for Ozone 4 here: http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/ozone/download.asp and echo FVS that when looking for 3rd party plugin effects or Instruments the format required is Audio Unit (AU). All the major plugin developers support this format. :) Rounik
