cpu consumption on dual core machines
Hi, I was watching Steve's intro to L9 where he shows have much better L9 distributes the porcessor load. This demo was on an 8 core Mac though and I have an iMac with only 2 cores. Earlier today I was working on a session with 12 tracks and I noticed that L8 was doing almost all the processing on a single core. In fact if I don't use the freeze function I get frequent cpu overload messages even though I have a 2.8 mac with 4 gigs of ram! In Steves demo each of the five tracks was being processed on a separate core, but what happens when you have more tracks than cores?
