    Hey Rounik I had a go at what you suggested.they both work but I still end up with two channels on the console.its ok as all I have to do is pan it hard R or L on logic and the center on the console.thanks for the help.

    Hey Rc, When you import the audio file or drag it to an audio track, you should be able to click and hold on the little circle or symbol below the channel strips Level Meter and then select Mono, Stereo, Left channel, Right channel or surround.     thanks..yea thats works.but I think its to do with maybe my motu 828it does not work well with logic as it does on digital performer. thanks allot for the help..
