Logic 8 busses
Following the Logic 8 tutorial, I've created a buss for audio files and effects in a project. It works fine until I try to solo the buss to hear it and its mix alone; the track won't produce sound when soloed. I thought I had the instructions right-is there something I'm missing? Could there be a problem with my software?

Hi dexter welcome to the forums. I haven't got access to Logic 8 anymore... but Logic 9 from memory behaves as L8 does. Soloing a Bus plays back only the signal routed to the Bus here. What version of Logic 8 are you running? e.g. 8.0.2 and what about your OS? Cheers Rounik

Hi, Rounik Thanks for responding! I am running Logic Pro 8.0.2 on a Mac (pre-Intel) G5, OS 10.4.11. It seemed that, in the lesson, Martin was able to simply select the "solo" button on either the track being bussed, or the aux track receiving it, and hear only that track. When I tried, I could see the meters indicating signal, but got no sound. Most perplexed, Dex

Hi Dexter, Hmmm.. it should work... are there any preferences in Logic you may have changed? Could you upload some screenshots? Here's how: http://www.macprovideo.com/forum/general/general-general&id=15243 Thanks! Rounik

Hi, Rounik Great idea-I took some screen shots; you'll see the mixer window with a guitar track selected, along with its corresponding bus. The neighboring track and bus, "chorus guitar" are shown in another shot with "solo" selected. It is at this point that I lose sound. Also shown: the arrange window. Please let me know if any other screen grabs would help. I have not changes any preferences that I'm aware of, but can check if I know where to look. many thanks Dex
