To my knowledge, swing is represented as a time/math variation of the rhythm...you adjust the swing either as a fraction or a percentage of the beat. This is useful when trying to add life or variation to MIDI patterns, but is not rich in terms of internal variations. Groove is based on a template, which is usually an audio file of performed music (usually percussive or at least transient-rich), whereby the groove template imposes its internal timing relationships to the selected file. This allows a much greater degree of rhythmic control. For example, sample some bars of your favourite song, create a groove template, and apply it to your file...et voila, James Brown lives!

Thank you for the explanation, but the template will be welcome, while being swing and groove. Another pertinent question: In logic, we have the overall signature, we can set in 4 / 4, 3 / 4, ect ... ect ...., How does one, assign a signature to a region or a set of selected regions ; different signatures of the overall project (which is in 4 / 4)?

there are templates that come with logic, also you can buy them, but best of all you can make them. Look into the logic instruction manual or help file. Tempo and meter changes can all be entered into global tracks at the top of the arrange page, bar by bar, section by section. Again, all the information you need is in the manual.

Please ask second (different) question in a new post so that others with the same question can find the answer! :) To answer you second question: Move the playhead to location where you want to set a new time signature and double click on the time signature in the transport bar at the bottom of the arrange and change it! You can use the global signature track too, if you want.
