Fletcher Munson Curve and 85db
I have been reading that 80-85db is the ideal listening level for mixing/mastering. I downloaded an SPL meter on my phone, and I blasted the volume in my headphones and it seemed to only reach 70 db or so. It hurt my ears to blast the headphones this loud. Wondering a few things: Is there an SPL meter in logic express 9? Are my headphones (sony mdr v6) good enough to mix on? How do I mix at this volume when it hurts my ears?! I also read that you should listen at two dedicated volumes. What two volumes do you listen at?

Maybe use a device like this: http://www.dblogic.com/html/spl-meter.html The phone SPL meter app might not be as accurate? What app were you using to test it?
