Logic won't recognize the "Additional Content" :(
Hey guys, so I downloaded Logic Pro 9 from the AppStore and I did read I need to download all the additional content, which I did. It does say it is installed and I do find it under the Application Support folder but I think Logic won't recognize it because when I open my Ultrabeat it still shows the 14 something kits only :( I know there's way more as I've seen this on other users videos and pictures before. Infact, I saw it briefly on mine too but for some reason it disappeared... How can I make Logic recognize it?

This is very strange. Does the additional content show under the Loops windows?

The thing is I wouldn't know how to recognize which items are the additional content? I just knew that the Ultrabeat ones were missing because I have by far less sounds than others. Would really appreciate help :(

The content should show up after the you have downloaded the additional content. Did the download complete correctly? Go to this location and see what you see in the folder: Library > Application Support > Logic > Plug-In Settings > Ultrabeat I have the following folders: 01 Drum Kits 02 Drum Banks 03 Tutorial Settings And under each folder I have Ultrabeat presets. Let me know if you see this as well in your folder.

Nope. Just 01 Drum Kits and 03 Tutorial Settings for me :-(. When I click on Additional Content in Logic again it does say that everything is installed correctly. Do you think I should remove it? I did have some interruptions here and their. How can I delete everything (just the content)? Or do you have another solution? Thanks for your help.

And in the 01 Drum Kits, how many presets do you have in there? I have 59 items in that folder. If you don't have near this amount then the installation probably did not complete correctly. The Additional Content gets installed in different locations, so I'd be a bit weary of deleting content in the Application Support > Logic folder, as some of the content is associated to the Logic installer not the Additional Content download. Another option is to uninstall Logic completely and then restart the Logic installer. Then after that to redo the Additional Content download. So when you try download the Additional Content again does it say it has already ben done?

Definitely not what I installed. I already tried to reinstall everything and when Logic opens it still says I have downloaded all the content (which might be true or not). However, I can overwrite it and download everything again. But I would like to just wipe everything completely (Logic and anything that remains even when I trash it) and just start again clean. Any ideas?

Hi monkeyking, Do you have your Garageband installers as well (they normally reside on your system discs). I can give you the locations of all the folders and files you need to delete, but some of them are associated to Garabeband as well. So you will need to reinstall Garageband as well.

Okay, that's not a problem. Garageband already was on my computer when I bought it. How do I reinstall it, as it does not come up as free on the AppStore. If not, it's fine don't really need it anyway (as Logic is superior and I've honestly never used it ^^). For now would you be so kind to point those out and tell me the steps I should take (and what to look out for) please?

Ok, here we. If you can do a backup of your Mac (using Time Machine if possible). Then at least if something does go missing you can retrieve it from the backup. Delete the following items: Application Files /Applications/Compressor /Applications/Logic Node /Applications/Logic Pro /Applications/MainStage /Applications/Soundtrack Pro /Applications/WaveBurner /Applications/Utilities/Apple Loops Utility /Applications/Utilities/Impulse Response Utility Factory Settings, Instruments /Library/Application Support/Logic/ /Library/Application Support/Garageband/ /Library/Application Support/Garageband Content/ (Legacy) /Library/Application Support/Soundtrack Pro/ /Library/Application Support/WaveBurner/ Impulse Responses /Library/Audio/Impulse Responses/ Receipts /Library/Receipts/AudioContentforSoundtrackProXX.pkg /Library/Receipts/CompressorXX.pkg /Library/Receipts/EXS24SamplerLibrarySamples.pkg /Library/Receipts/EXS24SamplerLibraryStudio.pkg /Library/Receipts/GarageBandXX.pkg /Library/Receipts/ImpulseData.pkg /Library/Receipts/ImpulseResponseUtility.pkg /Library/Receipts/JamPackXX.pkg /Library/Receipts/LogicXX.pkg /Library/Receipts/MainStageXX.pkg /Library/Receipts/RemixToolsXX.pkg /Library/Receipts/RhythmSectionXX.pkg /Library/Receipts/SharedLogicStudioHelpFiles.pkg /Library/Receipts/SoundtrackProXX.pkg /Library/Receipts/UltrabeatXX.pkg /Library/Receipts/WaveburnerXX.pkg User Preferences: ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic.pro.plist ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic.pro.cs ~/Library/Preferences/Logic/ (Legacy preferences) License /Library/Application Support/ProApps/Logic Studio System ID Apple Loops /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/Apple Loops for GarageBand/ /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/Apple Loops for Soundtrack Pro/ /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/iLife Sound Effects/ /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/Jam Pack 1/ /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/Jam Pack Remix Tools/ /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/Jam Pack Rhythm Section/ /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/Jam Pack Symphony Orchestra/ /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/Jam Pack World Music/ /Library/Audio/Apple Loops Index/ Some of these folders you may not have, as some systems and installations are different. But delete as much as you can. Then download and reinstall Logic, and the Additional content. To reinstall Garageband: You Mac should of come with two system discs. The one will say Applications on it. the Garageband installer will be on this disc. This will install the Garageband application and the associated Apple Loops and Instruments.
