Voice Editing - "VariAudio"-ish
Hey guys, I used to record with Cubase and absolutely loved their VariAudio plugin which basically transformed all your vocals in sort of MIDI-like cubes which makes it easy to adjust single notes yet still preserves the natural sound. I was wondering if Logic had something this similar? Thanks for the help.

Hi monkeyking, Logic doesn't, but you could look at the Melodyne DNA plugin which will allow you to this. I would highly recommend it as it has great time-strecthing and pitching features. Take a look here at what Melodyne has to offer: http://www.celemony.com/cms/index.php?id=products_editor We also have some great tutorials on Melodyne: http://www.macprovideo.com/tutorial/melodyne101 http://www.macprovideo.com/tutorial/melodyne201-advanced

Just looked at it on Youtube, that looks fantastic. Thank you. But $400 is so much. More than Logic Pro itself lol. Well worth an investment I guess. Do you personally think this is better than VariAudio? Also, what other cool and helpful downloadable plugins are there out there?

Yes, Melodyne is definitely worth. I use it for all sorts of things. For pitch-correcting. I really like its time-stretching algorithms. There are less artifacts in Melodyne when you stretch the audio by drastic amounts compared to other products with the same features. It is also great to use to come u with vocal harmonies and other creative vocal ideas. But who knows, maybe in the next version of Logic they introduce something similar to Varispeed as most of the DAWs have their own built in feature like this now.
