Strange latency / record delay issue
Hello, I'm having a really strange issue with latency. Running a macbook pro (2007, dual core, 4 gig ram, Lion) with an Apogee Ensemble. I am trying to DI a scratch guitar track at 48 khz. I calculated a 31 sample record delay which I've compensated for in the settings. On playback after tracking, the recording becomes delayed progressively as time passes. It sounds a little stretched as well. Here's the kicker. I just tracked a full kit (9 mics) with no problem 2 days ago! Any ideas? I'm really stuck on this one.

Is your Logic project set to 48khz? If not, then that is probably your issue. To convert your audio file do the following: Right click the audio file and go to Convert > Convert to New Audio File(s) A dialog box will come up asking you to save the new file> here you can change the sample rate and bit depth Try this and see if it works.

Thanks for the reply Gary. The project/hardware and audio file are 48khz. I created a new project and recorded without the issue. I'm wondering if a project can become corrupt and have this behavior?

Strange things can happen to projects. Try this with the problematic project. Open it, and then go to File > Save as Copy. This will create a copy of, but also a new project. Then open the new copy you have created and see it the same things happens.
