    Editing guitar sounds
Hi I have an issue with the guitar tracks that I record. When I play them back they sound, what I can only describe as "over clicky", that is every note sounds over plucked through the pick-ups. How can I soften these notes? One thought was that it may be something to do with the amount of compression I am using When recording the guitar tracks I plug directly into the mac using an interface. Best Jim

Indeed, if you're applying significant compression (especially with a slow attack setting and a lot of make-up gain), it can increase the attack (click) part of the sound. Try backing off the compression. Amps naturally compress anyway, so you may not need as much as you think.
