Also, I did notice you said you were using Novation Automap v. 4.5 and there is a 4.7 now. And I find if I open Automap first before logic X it works more consistently than if I let it open automatically when I open Logic, or if I open Logic first.

I'm having this same issue for the second time. The first time I able able to fix it without having to move all my plugins but unfortunately I don't remember what I did. After updating to Automap 4.8, the issue has returned. So I suspect that Automap may somehow be the culprit. Ideas?

Oddly enough, after I moved the plugins out of the Component folder and then moved them back one by one, Logic starts up normally now and the component folder contains all the same plugins as it did before completing the process. *shrug*
I upgraded to Logic X and had the same problem at first. It turned out that it was to do with me using Automap. I don't know if you are using a similar set-up. All I did was to go into Preferences for Automap and I checked the box "Use Logic 9 64Bit Plug-in Friendly Audio Units ". I do have only one AU that fails now but I hope to sort that out.
Thanks, this solved my problem! Automap was the one causing it for me.
