volume automation in Track vs. in Hyper Editor
Out of curiosity, i drew a crescendo in the track automation while a decrescendo in the hyper editor of that same midi region. and the fader just went crazy during the playback! so it seems that both volume control in the track automation and Hyper Editor target the exact same object - the fader level of that particular track. is that true? I thought CC#7 (volume change in hyper editor) controls the MIDI Volume and hence the virtual volume knob of the soft synth inserted in a channel strip while track automation (of volume) simply controls the fader level of the track? i'm confused...

Re: volume automation in Track vs. in Hyper Editor
Hi I'm not MIDI master but use CC 7 & CC 10 for volume and pan respectively in regards to the channel strip. These appear to be reserved for controlling the channel strip and not the instrument AFAIK. However, your idea of a decrescendo in the hyper editor and a crescendo in track automation can produce some nice glitching style effects. Thanks! If you want to control the volume of a plug-in use the track automation and/or to assign it to a midi controller use 'Learn assignment for...' (Cmnd - L by default). Cheers Rounik
