I'm familiar with Ableton Live and found making DJ remixes & Mashups, fairly easy after inserting "Warp Markers".
Does Logic Pro allow these kind of markers for constraining your beats?

Logic has features similar to warp markers. Any audio you record in Logic or any 'apple loop' that you create can be made to adjust to (follow) the project's tempo.
You can also time stretch any audio within the main window of Logic, the arrange, or do finer beat matching exercises too.
I can't compare it to the ease of Live - but I know some do feel that Live excels at 'warping' and is a more immediate tool than Logic for this.
What kind of effects/things are you looking to do exactly?

I'm very new to Ableton. I've learned a few things in a class but I only have Ableton Live 6 LE.
I need to either buy Live full version or Logic.
I really wanted to buy Logic because I think it will become the standard (and It looks great) but as a DJ I want to make re-edits and remixes to a lot of my music.
I haven't used any effects yet.
The instructor in the class recommended Ableton Live + Reason for DJ remixing.
So maybe Ableton is the way to go.

if it's DJing, quick remixes, warping that kind of thing then to be honest, Live is quicker at it than Logic. You can do most things in Logic, and I personally think the results from Logic sound better than Live or Reason... whole other topic, but Live has been engineered for these tasks specifically.

I agree with Yadj. Live is quicker and more efficient at warping but Logic can produce as good as results. In general from my experience I find Logic sounds better in general than Live or reason.
You can rewire Live or Reason to Logic which makes for a very powerful experience. However, If DJing is mainly your focus then I think Live will make for a much better platform to perform live than Logic currently. It's what is was intended for (the clue is in the name...;-)
The effects in Logic are fantastic! Arguably better quality than any other DAW on the market.
If you have a chance get some more hands on experience of both Logic and Live and see which one appeals. Talk to as many other people that have used both and get their honest opinions. Do check out the free videos on this site for Live and Logic (there are lot of Logic one's!!!)...
I don't think you can lose if you choose one or the other and choosing both would be great! But if I was DJing primarily then I'd probably lean towards Live.
Let us know what you choose in the end.

I think I'll get the Live tutorials.
I can always get Logic sometime down the road when I want to create music. For now, All I want to do is make re-edits to already produced tracks.
Another great thing about Live is that there are a lot of video tutorials already on the web.
