Greetings, I used to be able to use the AU DLSMusic Device to play instruments from a midi set that is used in the product I compose music for. It was a way to be able to compose and hear the actual instrument set that I was writing for. Suddenly in Logic 8 it seems that the DLSMusic Device is no longer present. I can't use it to set up new Logic projects, and the old ones with saved DLS load, but a notice appears that DLSMusic device isn't present. Is there any way I can still use this? I really need it! Thanks for any help.

Hi jmunsen! When you click on the I/O slot, look into AU instruments / Apple / DSL Music Device. You can also shift-click the I/O slot to have the plugins displayed Logic 7 style. If it's not available, look into Logic Pro > Preferences > Audio Units Manager and make sure it is validated and checked.

Christian, That worked! I'm so relieved. I've been aborting the plug-in scan because my Waves plug-ins don't seem to be compatable with Logic 8, and the DLS device never got scanned and set. I love this forum and the Logic Tutorials!!!

Hi Jmusen In the Logic Pro > Preferences > Audio Units Manager... The DLS Music Device is the 19th from the top. In the I/O of the Channel strip it's listed as Christian says: AU instruments / Apple / DSL Music Device Is it still not showing? Are you running 8.0.1 or 8.0?
