I don't want to steal Steve's thunder, but just the other day I made my own video about this very topic. The basics are really easy. I used Logic 7.1, but the procedure is basically exactly the same in 8. I'm sure Steve would go into more depth and the gotchas involved, but just in terms of making them, this video might have you covered. Boy, when it's that easy, it's a bit embarassing. Thanks for this. How does one then export the green apple loop to share with others? It's almost friday, Shaun

On my machine, the Apple Loops end up here: ~/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/User Loops/SingleFiles/ So you'd probably just grab the one you made, maybe zip it up, and upload.

Are the instruments and settings contained in the metadata?

I'm pretty sure they are, yes. But I have yet to share these type of Apple Loops. If you want, I can make one and send it to you and see what happens.

Yes. It works great. Green appleloops contains both the MIDI, channel strip settings and audio. Just make sure you don't use any send FX or else the effects will only be heard on the audio loop. Use insert plugins instead,
