    Live Performance w/ Logic 9
I've heard Steve H and Rounik refer to using environment setups etc as live performance tools. My question is: If I'm planning on using Mainstage2 almost entirely in my live performances would there be any need to run Logic 9 alongside it or do anything directly from within Logic in a live performance? When would one choose to use Logic as an actual live performance tool instead of Mainstage 2? Thanks! MPV rocks!

Hi coFane! It depends on what you want to achieve in a live scenario. MS2 now has a playback (and loopback) plugin, so audio files can be played back without needing Logic's sequencer. But, if you plan to make use of the Arpeggiator, delay line or other combinations of Logic's 'live environment objects' then I'd recommend using Logic as MS2 does not have direct access to these. If my primary concern was to playback synths and create loops on the fly and playback some backing tracks then MS2 would do me just fine. Also, you can build a much nicer looking interface and very very easily assign plugin parameters to screen controls and to MIDI hardware. :) Rounik
