    volume pedal placement
I have the MS2 video and found the very sparse sections related to guitar pedal board, which are helpful. However, I have been trying to duplicate my real world pedal board and have run into a snag. I have my volume pedal after the overdrive and before the modulation effects. In main stage there isn't a dedicated volume effect, so how do you suggest I create this? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

You can use MIDI learn function in Mainstage and assign the volume meter on the channel strip to a MIDI sustain pedal if you have one. Then you can use the MIDI sustain as a volume pedal control.

You can put a channel strip in between pedals?

This is what you can do this on the channel strip: 1. On your Channel Strip where you guitar is coming through add a Pedalboard with all your guitar effects that are before the volume pedal (eg your overdrive effects). 2. Then add a Gain plugin after the pedal board. And assign the Gain level to a MIDI controller so you can change the volume manually. 3. Then add another Pedalboard with all your modulation effects you want after the volume pedal. This should now replicate the setup you had with the volume pedal before your modulation effects.

Gad, that sounds complicated. Actually, late last evening I was messing around with the other Wah pedal and found out that if you turn one of the knobs all the way to the right it becomes a volume pedal. I didn't see it before because I don't like modern wah sounds, and it's weird that it would be there since Apple normally does things that are easier to find. So now my pedal board has the vintage wah and the modern wah, which is works as a volume pedal. Arghh!!! :-) So, hopefully this helps others looking for the same thing.

Thats right. I forgot about that. Haven't used Mainstage in a bit. Well done on finding out about the Wah/Volume configuration.
