    Group channel strips
I have a split setup with three synth plugins assigned to key ranges across a keyboard. Each synth is assigned to an instrument track. I'd like to use a MIDI expression pedal to control the volume of all three channel strips simultaneously. I've looked into aux channels, patch busses, etc. but can't figure it out. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Thanks in advance.

I'm sure there's more than one way to do it, but (assuming I'm understanding your setup correctly) you could set it up as in the screenshot below, as a Patch with the three synths in three Instrument channel strips, assigned to various key ranges, with an Expression pedal mapped to Keyboard 1 destination > 11 (Expression), mapped to an external pedal via the (red) Map Parameter button. This should let you use the pedal to adjust volume on all three Instrument channels at once, leaving the volume faders free for balancing the different synth levels. A pedal is included by default in the basic keyboard Patch so all you'd have to do is assign it to Expression instead of (channel) Volume (if that's how you want to do it) and set up the external pedal mapping. To get some ideas about other ways to approach it (that might offer more flexibility), a couple of videos from this MainStage 3 course get into the details of mapping..
