Most efficient way to install NI Komplete on my old macpro
My specs are 2.33 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo 3 GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM Version 10.6.8 I have 160 GB capacity with only 70 GB available As of now I'm trying to clear up space but I'm weary if it'll be enough. I run Logic studio and I would like to use much of NI's Komplete. My external is 1 TB. How could I best go about this? Also is there a way to put my itunes on my external and play all my music from there? That alone takes up substantial space. Thanks

Thank you I linked up my external now to my itunes so I cleared about 30 GB but I think I'm still short to install komplete. Do you think I could put all my apple loops from logic onto my external instead? Because that's like 20 GB by itself. Appreciate it

This has worked great thanks again. I have all my content on my external however I realized that it originally was going into a folder named Shared but since I couldn't find it on my own when looking for it I created a separate folder called NI instruments. Will this still be properly indexed and load all the content to it's respective instruments? Because when I opened Battery, FM, and etc they all looked rather blank. On another note is their an updated course for Komplete 8 because the course I saw available seems to be old and based on Komplete 5. Thanks

Thats fine, you can change the settings in each NI application so that it looks to the correct folder. First copy the Shared documents to your external HD this is where it is located: Macintosh HD > users > username > Documents > Native Instruments > Shared Content. Copy this Shared Content to your external HD. now change the setting in each application. For example in Massive go to File > Options > Browser. Click Add, and navigate to the shred folder on your External HD. Now click rebuild. This will rebuild the database for that application, and now you should see stuff. There isn't a newer tutorial on Komplete, but there has been newer tutorials released on the applications separately. This did the trick. But should I delete or keep Mac HD users:alex in the directory? Also I was able to do that on all the instruments but Battery..which doesnt give me an option to rebuild. It just says factory content. I could put a file there but nothing changes or I don't see any presets to load kits and etc. Thanks

Hi Alex, Don't delete your User directory. You can delete the Native Instruments content in this directory. I don't have Battery installed on my system, so afraid I can't comment correctly. But after doing some research, this is what you need to do: There is a 'Set' button to the right of the Pathway which when clicked shows a 'Choose Destination' window. Then choose the destination of your new Battery Library.
