Thats fine, you can change the settings in each NI application so that it looks to the correct folder.
First copy the Shared documents to your external HD this is where it is located:
Macintosh HD > users > [i]username[/i] > Documents > Native Instruments > Shared Content. Copy this Shared Content to your external HD. now change the setting in each application.
For example in Massive go to File > Options > Browser. Click Add, and navigate to the shred folder on your External HD. Now click rebuild. This will rebuild the database for that application, and now you should see stuff.
