Pro Tools output capture
Hi, I'm the Director of Audio for a University, and I'm recording some Pro Tools demos for an online class using software on the Mac called I Show U. Does anybody know if it's possible to record the output of Pro Tools audio to be included in the resulting quicktime video, like they have here in the MacProVideo demos? I can't seem to make it work. The software will capture "system audio" but there is no way to route PT audio output to the Mac system audio - it will only play through the MBox I'm using. Any ideas?

Hi Bradley, Welcome to the forums! Check out a utility called Sound Flower: http://www.cycling74.com/products/soundflower That should help (though I've never used it but have heard many good things about it). Also check out Wire Tap. It used to be free, but they seem to have consolidated it with the Pro version: http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/wiretap/ A very easy to use app. Hope that helps, Rounik

Thanks Rounik; appreciate the suggestion. Soundflower is already installed on the system; I couldn't make it work. Maybe WireTap would do it. Do you know which video capture software is used to record the MacProVideo demos? Regards, Brad

I wrote an entry on my blog (www.protoolsblog.com), that I explains how I do it. I don't know if it is the same as MacProVideo, but it works for me: http://www.protoolsblog.com/blog/how-do-you-makes-those-tutorial-hd-videos.html Cheers, Scott
