Just finished PT8 401 Mastering... Fantastic! Absolutely loved it. I observed something in Phil's mastering methodology that intrigued me. In the Sonnox limiter he set the dither for a 16 bit file, but then bounced the file as 24 bit 48kHz. After this he exported the file converting it to 16 bit 44.1 kHz. I've always bounced directly to disc at 16 bit 44.1, and until now I would have considered Phil's methodology incorrect because it introduces any extra step of processing to the file after dithering has been applied. Anyone care to chime in and share their thoughts? Cheers! Dave.
