    GarageBand keeps replacing my audio?
I’ve never had this issue the many years I’ve used this software. But I’m editing a medley and when I put in a certain amount of audio it starts picking a random part of one of the songs and replacing it in a different spot of my track. I had to start over and re did the entire thing, then when I listened back IT DID THE SAME THING AGAIN!? I don’t know why and I don’t understand what I’m doing incorrectly?

Hi - The first thing I'd suggest is to try the usual troubleshooting steps.. - Shutdown/restart the computer - Try running GB as another (test) user - Back up your GB files and reinstall GB Some possibilites that come to mind.. - Corrupted audio file(s) - Corrupted GB Project/Preferences/installation - User action..? - For that last one, are you doing any editing in GB that might be unintentionally affecting the audio? - Are you using Flex at all? - Can you duplicate the behavior in another song with different audio recordings? - When you "re-did the entire thing" did you re-record audio in the same GB Project (which could itself be corrupted) or re-record in a brand new (blank) GB Project? In my experience when weird stuff happens it may be that the session/project itself is corrupted, so if you haven't already done it, starting over with a new empty project would be a good test..

I just came across the same problem with 2 of my projects. I cannot believe all my work it gone and it will be difficult to re-record the audio lost. Very upset about it and would love to hear if you found any solutions.

We didn't hear back from the O.P. as to whether the problem got solved. It does sound like corruption in the GarageBand files -- I have seen that kind of thing happen occasionally over the years, and unfortunately it's usually been audio file or Project file corruption. If you dig into the GarageBand Project files [Show Package Contents > Media > Audio Files] you can locate the individual audio files -- you should be able to extract and test them to see if the audio files themselves are ok. If they are, maybe the Projects can be reconstructed in a fresh GB Project file.. [I think the default location for GB Project files is in the User folder > Music folder..?]

Thank you for the advice. One of the two audio files was recovered so I have to work with what I got.
