Tenori-On
Right, I've just been watching a few Youtube videos of he Tenkori in action and am suitably intrigued and feeling some gearlust coming on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hqq1K5f4W_I I can't find the link i was watching before....so here are a couple of others... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQI3Bsxp1NA So, anyone have one or used one? Does anyone use it as part of their Logic or compositional setup? I'd love to hear of any user experiences. Cheers Rounik

I have also been watching this product closely and really interested in it. A few things have worried me about it though. As far as I can tell the internal sounds are pretty limited and the internal sampling is extremely limited. I was still interested in the MIDI implementation though. A friend of mine recently got one, but as he lives far from me, I haven't gotten a chance to put my hands on it yet. He tells me that as far as he can tell, there are some problems with it as a MIDI controller as well... But he is still investigating. I still would really like to play with one, but I am not sure if it has the bang for the buck... There is a pretty good review on Sonic State... Brian S http://myspace.com/nemuriyume

Here is the sonic state review that I was referring to. http://www.sonicstate.com/articles/article.cfm?id=138 It shows it linked up to Logic. Brian S.

Hey, thanks for the links. This Tenori-On is pretty cool! It's great to see new type of digital instruments on the market! If you're looking for crazy controller, do you remember the ATARI Hotz MIDI Translator : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uox8Fmgai-s ... and the Hotz MIDI vest : http://www.designnews.com/blog/920000292/post/670020667.html ahhhh... the 80's. :-)

great links Christian! It took me a while, but i acually thought the HOTZ MIDI Translator was a spoof at first.... I love the MIDI vest idea and it reminded me of the er... sonic banana ( i kid you not!) http://www.ericsinger.com/workprojects.html and the Gypst MIDI cntroller http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgO2XCA8OW8&feature=related mmmm... The 80's sudenly look quite appealing ;-) But back to the Tenori, Norman Fairbanks created this beautiful tenori only album (7 days microsleep). It's free to download: http://www.normanfairbanks.com/

That sonic banana... now that's funny! That guy is looking so serious playing and twisting the sonic banana. That was very entertaining! Thanks Rounik! :-)
