ISSUE: Timeline Changes when Pasting and Opening Video Animation
Hey guys. I'm having an issue: when I copy a sound effect from a previous part of my video and paste it later, the timeline all of a sudden jumps extremely far forward way past when my video ends. I then have to scroll back to the spot where I'm working. This happens every time I paste a sound effect and is very frustrating. It also changes the timeline whenever I show video animation for a clip. Does anyone know why this is happening or have any solutions? Thanks.

You didn't say what video editor you're working in -- Final Cut? Premiere? -- that's going to make it hard for someone to offer specific advice. That said, it sounds like the program is set to automatically scroll to the end of a new/copied clip, probably expecting that you're going to want to continue editing from there. A video application I use does this by default, but includes a Preference to turn that behavior off [which I did] so the timeline stays where it is when you add/copy a new clip -- I'd check your program's Preferences or Options to see if there's such a setting that you can change.. Btw I've moved this thread to the Video forum..
