Importing Wavs/Aiffs into EXS24
Hi, I was wondering if there was a quick way to import wavs or aiffs (of which I have alot) into the EXS24? I've had a look through the existing topics on the EXS so apologies if I have missed it. If I had say a bunch of kick drums, can they be imported into a sub folder of the existing Logic 'Drums & Percussion' libraries? Hope that makes sense ! Cheers

Hi Deepgroove, If you want to import say all the kick drum samples into ONE EXS24 instrument then you can either drag the selected files onto the EXS24 instrument editor piano or go to Zones > Load Multiple... then save as... There might be a quicker (batch) way with Redmatica products. I don't use them, but everyone I speak to who uses the EXS24 and Redmatica app's raves about them...http://www.redmatica.com/Redmatica/Welcome_to_Redmatica.html Cheers Rounik

Hi again Rounik, I'm still having problems organising my samples in the EXS24. I have created a new instrument, dragged my samples across and mapped them across the keyboard, then saved them into a folder that I made within ~/Library/Application Support/Logic/Sampler Instruments. But it still only saves them as ONE instrument whereas I want my sub folder to contain all of the samples individually. I don't really need them to mapped along my keyboard. So for example - I'm working on a track and its looping over 2 bars. Lets say I want a quick way to preview a bunch of stabs I have in a folder. If I draw in a note on the middle C key on the piano roll, I want to be able to preview my 1st sample. If I don't like that and want to move onto the next one I want to just hit the + button on the EXS24 to move to my next sample (as you can do with the factory stuff). Is this possible to do? Thanks for all the help so far

Hi Deepgroove, You need to create a new EXS24 instrument for each patch/preset. So, if you want one stab sound to be assigned to one instrument, then you need to create different instruments per stab.... or if you are willing to experiment with your workflow.... ok, for example, you drag a bunch of different stab samples into one exs24 instrument editor. You assign them all to individual notes. When you want to preview a different sound for that "stab" part open the piano roll and select all the events on that note. (Easiest way is to click on the corresonding piano key on the left). Now you can move all these events up or down by pitch using the key commands "Event transpose +1 / -1" Mine are set to Option-Up arrow and Option- down arrow respectively. This will actually save you the time of creating lots and lots of individual exs24 instruments and save the time of loading them up while previewing... Let me know if that works for you... Cheers Rounik
