    exs24 issues
i've recently been trying to use exs24 with a kickdrum sample. Problem is it keeps distorting the sound and making clicking noise (almost like an echoey clipping) at faster bpm like 165 bpm. Same thing happens to bass samples. They are both samples i've made myself and I don't get the same issues with Kontact 2 so I know it's not my samples (I have tried with a range of samples and same thing keeps happening, tried it on my macbook pro too and through internal sound card, still same problem and same in 41,000 and 48,000). Filter and other stuff is all off, no envelope stuff just sustain on the amp. i'm just trying to use the exs24 so i can have different tuned kick drum and so i can have solid bassline with portamento/ glide. I just wanna be able to use exs not kontact for this stuff because it seems so much easier and maybe takes less cpu. Many thanks. I'm using logic 8.0.2 btw and have a G5 2.3 and an intel macbook pro 2.2. Cheers!

Hi Futant, Where is the clicking sound? during the attack, sustain or release of the sample? Cheers Rounik

sounds like it's during release. It sounds a bit like audio that has been cut with the end not on zero crossing. 1shot is not selected in exs24. cheers.

1shot for kick doesn't have same issue. It's also less of an issue for a bassline but still a little clicking whereas in kontact2 there isn't any. Don't want 1shot though cos i don't want tail end of kick to interfere with bass too much. Writing experimental psy-trance with kbbbkbbbkbbbkbbb. hmmmm...

....hmmmm... I'd go with the "One shot" and adjust the release.... or... hmmmm... would you mind uploading a simple project with the EXS24 sampler instrument loaded and saved so I can take a look? Cheers Rounik

will do this when i have a chance, thank you so much! I made another bassline that didn't seem to have the problem so i'm extra confused. I don't have any time in front of logic this weekend cos of work but will hopefully be able to send you one on monday. Thanks again!
