can anyone help me
hello, i am having trouble getting my beats to sound right using logic pro 8.i think it is because i am using only the built in pug ins that come with logic pro 8,i think i need to buy another compressor to make my beats sound more chunky at the moment they are sounding quite tinny,if anyone knows what plug ins i could buy to help my beats sound better that would be a great help to me. thanks Danny

Hi Danny, It's difficult to know what plug-ins to recommend... I mean, definitely there are some great 3rd party plug-ins and instruments on the market... e.g. Ozone to UAD to waves can all help... but what about mixing... have you checked out the different modes of Logic's compressor? Have you seen the Olav Basoski Logic 404: Mixing Electronica tutorial? http://www.macprovideo.com/tutorial/prodElectro There's also a free compressor, Rough Rider in the Gear forum in the Free Plug-ins thread: http://www.macprovideo.com/forum/general/gear&id=10352 cheers Rounik

Hey Danny, So you are you looking to increase your arsenal of instruments (to create sounds) or effect plug-ins (to effect the sounds ;-) If you're interested in a kick-ass Beat and drum remix, sound library extravaganza, check out Stylus RMX by Spectrasonics www.spectrasonics.net Also, Omnisphere by Spectrasonics! Both are WOW instruments! These two should be on every electronic musicians' santa wishlists IMHO. Waves are also very famous for their effects plug-ins. This is a good topic... what does everyone else think are essential plug-ins? Cheers Rounik

Well I like FXpansions GURU for my beats. I really dont use it to its full potential but it gets the job done. Synth wise I like: Minimoog V Jupiter 8v Predator Trilogy bass although its not the best to use on an intel mac as automation is a pain in the ass EFX - Not too clued on these to be honest. I know the sonalkis (Spell check) are meant to be good. While we on on this sort of topic. Does anyone know of a site that has tutorials on making drums? I would like to know how to make that minimal tech house beat. Thanks
