Hi Edge!!!,
This might be what you are after...
In the Mixer Window, select a Channel Strip... Click on View ( top left of window )... at the bottom of the drop down menu click on Colors and choose the one you want...
The same Colors Menu can be found in the Arrange Window also under View...

Cheers, Bj
ok thanks but that's not it? i looked it up and got the correct name for it. what i would like to do is change the color of the level meter... could you walk me through doing this the right way. it's the level meter.
Hi edgy,
Do you mean you wish to change the orange/yellowish colour of the level meter itself to another colour?
Something like this?

OK.
Do you have a copy of Photoshop, a place to back up your original Logic.app file and plenty of time?
... it's a manual process and will involve you altering the graphic file in Photoshop or a similar editing app.
If you're still interested let me know and I'll post a 'how to'...
:)

ok, I'm interested, i do have a back up place and i don't own photoshop, i do have GIMP an open source editor like photoshop but i'm willing to dive in and make arrangements. are there any other photo editors beside photoshop that will do the same that you can recommend that's apart of the mac os, are something different? thx
Hi edgy,
OK. Here goes. I found out about this info on another site some time ago. It wasn't explained in depth, so here is a basic example.
-----
PART A : Backing up your Logic.app
1. QUIT LOGIC & open a Finder Window and navigate to your Applications folder.
2.Control-click on the Logic icon and choose Duplicate.
Changing the look of Logic 8

We are going to work on the duplicate of Logic.app. In this instance Iʼve renamed it Logic
Pro Makeover.
PART B : Find the Files
1.Control-click on your duplicate copy of Logic.app
2.Choose Show Package Contents. A new Finder Window
will open and display the contents of the Logic app.

3.Navigate to the Resources folder. In here you will Find all
the .tiff Files that are used in Logic.
4.We are looking for the Level meter graphics. Namely:
- LevelMeterMonoWide.tiff
- LevelMeterMonoWideDark.tiff
- LevelMeterStereo.tiff
- LevelMeterStereoDark.tiff
PART C : Manipulating the Meters tiffs
1.Open up one of these File in the Graphics Editing Application of your choice. For this
example I'm using Pixelmator. Any editor like Photoshop or GIMP will do Fine.
2.In Pixelmator I've created a new layer which contains a gradient to cover the existing
colours of the Level Meter:

3.Repeat this procedure for all the Files and either save over the original, or save each level meter as tiff Files (with the exact same name) to a new folder. I prefer to do the later option!

PART 4 : Your level meters in Logic!
If you have saved your versions over the originals skip 1. and move on to 2.
1.Move or copy the level meter graphics files to the Resources folder inside the Logic.app
package contents.
2. Navigate back to your Applications folder and double-click on the Logic Pro Makeover
icon.
3.You will now see that Logic has replaced the default graphic of the level meters with
your own versions:

Remember to keep a backup either of the entire Logic.app or the Resources folder within the package Contents of Logic.app
You can now go wild and change the colours and graphics for any of the icons you find in the Resource folder.
Here is a link to the pdf version of these instructions:

Again, please remember to backup your resources folder (within the Logic.app Package Contents) or the entire Logic.app itself.
Hope that helps
