I like the flex time stuff, but yeah, I was also hoping for a lot more ... I WANT TO MAKE NEW TUTORIALS!! Some new synths would have been amazing ...

But like Martin said I also wish there had been some more synths and also some enhancements to the Environment.

Kia ora, one thing I'm not exactly clear on is whether it is 64 bit native. It's suggesting not by it's system requirements as there is no requirement to run Snow Leopard. There's no mention of hyperthreading exploitation either... unless these cats are going to be siblings of Snow Leopard? I'm feeling for PPC crew out there as well as I think the drop of support is a little premature. Sure it's inevitable at some stage, but a Quad G5 is still more than grunty enough to run Logic 8 and I don't see Logic 9 being that more taxing. Apple themselves said how easy and streamlined it was to code PPC alongside UB releases so it does look as though the conscious decision is that hardware support is only going to be 3 years from now on. Mind you, nobody is forcing anyone to upgrade their either!.... unless you need a new computer. Where's that fence!?

It looks like Logic 9.0 is not 64bit. You're right there's no mention of it. However, despite saying it does not support PPC architecture it looks like it will run on PPC Mac's: [url]http://www.macprovideo.com/forum/logic/logic-pro-express&id=19256[/url] My hunch is that when Snow Leopard arrives (which is Intel only) and whose focus is on smaller app and file sizes and greater efficiency we'll see Logic 9 supporting only Intel based Mac's. I think for software to successfully support Leopard, Snow Leopard, 32bit, 64bit, Intel and PPC architecture is a massive task. Guess we shall see how it all pans out over the next few months. I think PPC trialing will be a suck it and see affair! Agreed though, 64bit stuff is a complete re-write and is no minor undertaking, and Logic isn't the only software they are tending to (it's the most important one obviously) but, this isn't a 64bit release. I'm sure Xcode isn't as convenient as a droplet with respect to creating different version releases.... and if there is hard evidence to suggest it just isn't/ wasn't worthwhile then fair enough, but, if they wanted to release a PPC version of it, they would have I guess is what I'm tying to say. I think that fence must have been electrified so I got off it.... where's another! Next few months will be interesting though. You can't say Apple aren't full of surprises! I know I wasn't expecting to be staring a new release in the face this morning!

according to the latest AATCe newsletter Apple are saying that if your going to teach L9 then you must be running intel machines thats in the new classroom spec sheet for trainers.Looks like im doing some serious groveling to my boss nxt week for new machines. mtec
