Adding custom saamples to the EXS24 for use with Drum Replacer
Hello all, Ok, I have been trying to work with the new Drum Replacer in LP9 I am finding it to be a bit finicky...Sometimes the the sensitivity slider doesn't do anything at all, sometimes while selecting different sample during preview it crashes the core audio driver. But all that aside, I am trying to add custom samples to the EXS24 for use with drum replacer, I added some .wav files. one shot snare hits to the sampler library but they dosn't show up in the EXS24 so I created a new instrument and added the sample, but I have hundreds of samples I would like to just import and use. Anyone know an easy fast way to do this.

Hey Hricco, You can import multiple samples into the EXS24 and then set how they are layed out in the EXS24 Instrument Editor. But, if you've got gazillions of samples and you want to harness the power of the EXS24... well let's say go beyond the power of the EXS24 then check out the products by Redmatica, like Keymap which can batch create Sampler Instruments http://www.redmatica.com You might want to check out the tutorial for Keymap by Redmatica: http://www.macprovideo.com/tutorial/keymap101 Hope that helps, Rounik

Hi, Thanks for the reply, redmatica looks a litte complicated... there really isn't a way to just import all the samples, and have them show up as separate instruments and not mapped across the keys as one instrument?

Hi, Well, I guess you could drag all the samples you want per instrument to a track. Now Select all regions and choose create sampler Instrument. Repeat the above. Cheers Rounik

Thanks again, That is a great suggestion! However, I found this litte gem last night http://www.icedaudio.com/ it is called AudioFinder. It is a very cool tool, and it has the ability to create EXS instruments with one click!! and you can batch create them too. only problem is it creates folders for each instrument so I have to take all the instruments out of the folder and put them in one single folder that I create. but it is much faster than creating them in the EXS. and for 69 bucks? why not .......

Ah yes! I forgot about Audio Finder. I didn't relaise it had Batch EXS24 creation abilities. I know Keymap One is about 100 Euros so I guess if you're only going to use one feature then Audio Finder would be a better bet. Do let me know how it works for you. :) Rounik

Rounik, It is working great, thanks for the suggestion. Best part of this whole thing is that I am really learning the EXS24 in and out. As for Audio Finder it is working great. it even has some beat detect and tempo utilities, plus and advanced rename function. very cool. Thanks again
