Custom templates/meters etc.
Hey guys, I've seen screenshots of Logic with cool custom meters and colors etc. How do I go in and change that? Is there a website that I can download different templates from? Or does Logic come with some presets in the box so to speak? I have the new Logic 9

Hi Mikey, Sure you can. I posted about this a couple of months ago... Aha... here it is: http://www.macprovideo.com/forum/logic/logic-pro-express&id=18828&sid=#18858 Do you feel confident with your Photoshop skills? It's quite easy to change the colors - but will take some time to do it manually. Was very satisfying though ;-) Let me know if you need any further help. Rounik

Haha I don't know if I'm hardcore enough to do that on my own. Is there a place where I can just download custom .tiff files?

Hi Mikey! It's not as hard as it looks ;-) Did you download the PDF I linked to in the thread above? Do you have access to Photoshop or any other graphic manipulation app? Maybe I can help you along... what elements do you want to change? :) Rounik

Yeah I do have photoshop, I just don't know what to do with the .tiff file once I put it in there haha. I've never used Adobe Photoshop before. I have the CS3 version. I actually found somebody out there in the internet world that had uploaded their custom .tiff files. I liked most of the ideas but one that I would change would be the cycle region. They made it this bright purple... no good. The files were: Ru_CycleArea_B.tiff Ru_CycleArea_S.tiff Ru_CycleArrowLeft_B.tiff Ru_CycleArrowRight_B.tiff So yeah if you could walk me through how to toss those into Photoshop and change the color, I could just dump them back into my duplicated Logic Pro "Custom" app that I created. That would be sweet

Hi Mikey, Sure, I'll do my best. I'm using Pixelmator these days on my Logic Mac (pretty much a Photoshop clone - and pretty good too). So I think all the commands should relate to directly to photoshop CS3. I tried out changing the Cycle Region and it should be quite straight forward. First create backups of the original files... or even the entire Logic.app!!! 1. Open the Ru_CycleArea_B.tiff in Photoshop. 2. No need to create any layers for this one... Choose Edit > Fill... 3. Pick a colour, blend mode and opacity until you are happy with the colour. 4. Open Ru_CycleArea_S.tiff in Photoshop and apply the same settings to this file. save as a tiff with the same name and save them / copy them into the relevant folder. 5. Start Logic and marvel at your new found artistry :o) Rounik
